Instituto Peruano de Paternidad Responsable (INPPARES)
INPPARES provides comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services throughout Peru, including gynecological care, contraceptives, gender-based violence screenings and referrals, and HIV and STI prevention and testing. Its HIV outreach programs are aimed at prevention efforts among the most vulnerable groups, such as sex workers, LGBT people, and youth living or working on the streets. INPPARES also utilizes mobile health units to bring vital health services to rural and marginalized communities.
INPPARES is recognized as an international leader in providing sexual and reproductive health services to young people. Its youth program has been active for more than 20 years and is highly committed to youth participation in all aspects of its projects. INPPARES provides youth-friendly services in all of its clinics and trains peer health educators to facilitate informational sessions on sexual and reproductive health issues. Young people take an active roles in advocacy, speaking in public forums and on institutional committees, and many of INPPARES’s staff are former youth participants, a testament to the program's strength and success.
