Asociación Demográfica Costarricense (ADC)

ADC is a strong voice in Costa Rica advocating for sexual and reproductive health and rights. It pursues its goals through research, education, service delivery, and advocacy activities to implement change in national policy.

Providing trainings to public sector agencies like schools and medical facilities is one of its primary activities. This involves providing comprehensive sexuality education trainings and materials to health and education professionals on a variety of subjects that range from HIV and violence to sexual diversity to the importance of male involvement. They also have an active youth group.

ADC is a leader in HIV prevention education and advocacy. It advocates for improved legislation around labor rights for HIV-positive workers and provides HIV counseling services to vulnerable populations, such as people in prison, indigenous populations, adolescent mothers, and migrant communities. ADC also sensitizes prison staff on issues of condom promotion, sexual diversity, and HIV.
